Patricia Belouin St. Denis was born on July 8, 1944, and left this earth much too soon, on December 19, 2021, in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania.
Pat was the second of three daughters born to Charles and Rita Belouin. She grew up in North Adams, Massachusetts and attended St. Joseph’s High School and Albany Business College.
Pat met the love of her life, James (Jim) St. Denis at the young age of 16. They were married on August 1, 1964, after Jim returned from the Navy. They moved several times as Jim pursued high school coaching opportunities in Massachusetts and Vermont, and ultimately landed in Adams, MA where they raised their 3 children, and she built her career as an insurance agent. In 1993, they relocated to Myrtle Beach, SC, where Pat continued her career as an insurance agent. Once retired, Pat enjoyed golfing both with Jim and her women’s group, playing mahjong, and spending time with her friends in her Christian Life group.
Pat and Jim had recently relocated to Chadds Ford to live with their daughter, Melissa, and family. She was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer in early December and was blessed to have her family care for her at home during her rapid decline. She was grateful to be able to spend time with each of her children during her final days, sharing stories, memories, and love.
Pat’s life was defined by her love of God, and love of family. She was a faithful woman. She rejoiced in every accomplishment of her family and grieved with them during difficult times. Pat enjoyed spending time with family, sewing and crafting.
In addition to her husband of 57 years, Jim, Pat is survived by her children, Kevin (Ann) St. Denis, South Windsor, CT, Melissa (Bill) Cunningham, Chadds Ford, PA and Christina (Robert) Taddeo, Southington, CT. She is also survived by her grandchildren, whom she adored, Jason and Jenna St. Denis, William, Holly, Haley and Alexander Cunningham, Caitlin, Justin and Madison Taddeo. She is also survived by her two sisters, Jackie (Don) Christiansen and Michele Szymela; also several nieces and nephews.
A private celebration of her life by family will honor Pat in May 2022.
