Obituary

Patrick Michael Przywara, of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2024, surrounded by his wife, daughter, granddaughter, and favorite dogs, Bhrodie, Bess, and Loki, after a long battle with a neurodegenerative disease/presumed CTE.

Patrick is preceded in death by his parents, John and Anne (née Boyce) Przywara; his in-laws, James and Theresa Aiken; his dear youngest sister, MaryAnne Przywara; and his siblings-in-law, Pete Aiken and Becky (Jake) Dolbow.

Pat was a tremendously outgoing person; he loved to talk with everyone and was always the life of the party! He was an avid runner throughout his life and a passionate and talented football player in high school (Triton Regional Mustangs) and college (Widener University Pioneers). Pat forged many lifelong friendships during these years, which were incredibly special to him. The most notable relationship, however, was meeting the love of his life, Joan, during his senior year of college.

Pat worked for UPS in West Chester, PA, for most of his life, starting as a package car driver and eventually becoming a feeder driver (tractor-trailer) for the final part of his working life. Pat was a proud Philadelphia sports fan, most notably the Philadelphia Eagles and St. Joseph's University Hawks –The Hawk Will Never Die! He was also a proud "horse dad," attending countless lessons, horse shows, pony club rallies, and trailering his daughter’s horse, Casper, up and down the East Coast. Pat loved going to Ocean City, New Jersey, on family vacations, where he enjoyed running on the beach with his daughter, playing mini-golf with his nieces and nephews, and going for walks on the boardwalk with his granddaughter.

Pat leaves behind his beloved wife of forty-six years, Joan (Aiken) Przywara; his cherished daughter, Rebecca, and her husband, Matthew Della Volpe; and their daughter, Eleanor. Pat loved being "Elle's Pop-Pop", and she brightened up every single one of his days in the last two years of his life.

He also leaves behind his cherished sisters, Maureen Przywara, Maggie (Ed) Berry, and Kathy (Craig) Summers, as well as his dear sisters- and brothers-in-law: Peggy (Carl) Slaughter, James (Carol) Aiken, and Sue Aiken, in addition to many cousins from both sides of the family, and his very beloved nieces and nephews.

The Przywara family would like to thank Willow Tree Hospice, specifically his nurse Emma, for their care and support to make his transition peaceful. The family honored his wishes by not hosting a service but asks that the next time you’re in the car on a bright and beautiful day, you put on your favorite song (bonus points if it's Bruce Springsteen!) and jam out in honor of Pat, as that was one of his favorite things to do.
