Rev. Victor F. Sharrett of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania passed away at his home on Monday morning, May 8, 2023. He was 83 years old.
Born in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Victor A. Sharrett and the late Mildred Ulmer Sharrett.
Rev. Sharrett completed his studies at Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary in 1965 and was ordained on May 22, 1965 in Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul by the late John Cardinal Krol. He conferred his Master’s Degree from La Salle University in 1974. During his 58 years as Catholic priest, Father Sharrett’s assignments were: Assistant Pastor, St. Anthony of Padua Church (1965-67), Chaplain, Catholic Home-Marple (1967), Assistant Pastor, St. Cornelius Church, Chadds Ford (1967), Faculty, High School, Bishop Kenrick High School (1966-67), High School Principal, Archbishop Wood High School for Girls (1977-1990), Parochial Vicar, St. John the Evangelist Church, Morrisviile (1990-92), Pastor, St. Patrick Church, Kennett Square (1992-2015) and Pastor Emeritus, St. Patrick Church, Kennett Square (2015-2023).
He is survived by his brother, Christopher B. Sharrett
A Rite of Reception of Father Sharrett's body will be at 6:00PM followed by the viewing until 8:00PM on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 212 Meredith Street, Kennett Square.
A viewing on Friday, May 19, 2023 will be from 9:00AM to 10:30AM with a Funeral Mass being offered at 10:30AM by The Most Reverend Edward M. Deliman, D.D., V.G.
A luncheon reception at the Red Clay Room will follow the Funeral Mass. Please RSVP to St. Patrick Parish Office as for attending the luncheon, 610-444-4364.
Burial was private in St. Mary Cemetery on the grounds of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Doylestown.
