Richard John Barbato of Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania passed away at home on Monday, September 29, 2025. He was 76 years old.
Born in Queens, New York, Richard was the son of the late Joseph and Rose Solazzo Barbato. Richard and Linda both grew up on Long Island and married in 1972, where they made their home in Huntington for 50 years before moving to Chadds Ford in 1999. Rich’s career and profession in the pharmaceutical industry was a priority and some say his mission in life. He loved the comradery amongst peers, led his team with success and inspiration and pioneered a style in business that is unmatched. He enjoyed his travel with business and those he traveled with. He never really retired. He was working right up to close to his last days. Rich did love his motorcycle and his riding. Most of all and paramount in his life was his happiness with his wife, children, grandchildren and being with his family.
He was the beloved husband of Linda Brothers Barbato; father of Joseph Barbato (Denise) and Jaime Kerrigan (Brian); grandfather of Nicholas Barbato, Genevieve Kerrigan and Jack Kerrigan.
A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:00AM on Monday, October 6, 2025 from St. PATRICK CHURCH, 212 Meredith Street, Kennett Square. Burial will follow in Longwood Cemetery.
