Robert James McMullin

Robert "Bob" McMullin, age 90, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2018.  He was a loving and much loved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. 

Bob attended Girard College in Philadelphia from second grade through graduation.  After a tour in the Navy and with aid of the GI Bill, Bill attended Temple University and received a Masters in Social Work from Bryn Mawr College.  Building on the values of Stephen Girard, he spent his life in the service of social justice.  His most rewarding job was that of neighborhood organizer, building and empowering Philadelphia neighborhoods.

Bob and Lowell loved to travel.  A few of their favorite trips were backpacking through Scandinavia, exchanging homes in France and England and a yearlong adventure traversing the United State and Canada in their beloved Van Go.

Bob is survived by his wife Lowell, his daughters, Susan (David), Molly (Fred), Priscilla (David; his stepchildren, David, Catherine, Ted (Mary Kate); his grandchildren Cameron, Justin, Lauren, Joseph, Sophie, Heather Hannah, Christopher, Sean and Connor;  his great grandchildren, Chloe, Bristol, Benjamin, Selma Joy and Thomas.

His family and friends will miss his sharp intellect, his wonderful sense of humor and most especially his kind and gentle love.

A memorial service will be at 2:00PM on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at the William Penn Room at Crosslands, 1660 East Street Road, Kennett Square, Pennsylvnaia.
