Robert L. Woodward, age 82, died peacefully on July 9, 2025. Robert was born on November 14, 1942 in Avon Grove, Pennsylvania to the late William Woodward and the late Thelma Woodward (nee. Coppyberger).
Robert grew up in a farming family before being drafted into the US Army's 25th Infantry and subsequently served in Vietnam. After serving, he settled in West Chester, Pennsylvania with late his wife, Irene Woodward (nee. Molodowec) to raise their family.
While working full time to support his family, Robert continued his love for farming by maintaining a local farm owned by Leland and Jessie Burt, as well as a large garden at his home. He enjoyed volunteering at the Ukrainian Catholic Church making pierogies.
An avid gardener and woodworker, he would regale his family of stories from years past, time on the farm, and his childhood pet sheep, Bimbo and their adventures together. Robert will be missed by his family and his stories will be forever retold by his family.
Robert is predeceased by his wife, Irene; son, Robert, Jr. and grandson, Mark, Jr.
He is survived by his son, Mark (Amanda); his daughter in law, Sherre Woodward (nee. Latch); four grandchildren, Aleksander, Nicholas, Robert III (Jessica) and Patrick; four great grandchildren, Robert IV, Charlotte, Adelyn and Carter; siblings, Ann Rumford and William Woodward as well as his long time companion, Joyce Sexton.
At his request, no services will be held except for a small private gathering at Lawncroft Cemetery in Linwood, Pennsylvania.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Holy Myrrh-Bearer's Ukrainian Church in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania.
