Robert Ryan McCord

November 1, 1978

Obituary

Robert Ryan McCord, affectionately known as "Ryan", left us too soon on April 30, 2025, at the age of 46.  Born on November 1, 1978, in Charleston, South Carolina, Ryan was the kind of guy who could lighten up any room with his quick wit and infectious humor.  His one-liners, always delivered with perfect timing, never failed to bring a smile to those around him.  But beyond the laughs, Ryan was a hardworking individual, never hesitating to roll up his sleeves and lend a hand wherever needed.  His generosity and willingness to help others were traits that defined him and left a lasting impact on everyone he met.  At the time of his passing, he resided in Kennett Square, a place he called home with his beloved family.

Ryan was a man of faith and grounded in his Christian beliefs, which guided him throughout his life.  He married the love of his life, Jacklyn, in 2009.  Together, they created a beautiful family, raising Lexie and welcoming Cole into the world in 2018.

Known for his hard-working nature and ever-ready willingness to lend a hand, Ryan was a pillar of strength and support for those around him.  He was a dedicated employee and an exceptional team member who consistently went above and beyond, finding his greatest fulfillment in working alongside his colleagues; he took immense pride in the work he did and deeply valued the relationships he built throughout his career in the property management industry.

Ryan leaves behind a family that adored him, including his devoted wife, Jacklyn; his cherished children, Cole and Lexie; his mother, Paula Oglesby; his father, Bob McCord, alongside his wife, Cindy.  Also surviving is his brother, Ross (Laurel).  Ryan was a proud uncle, thoughtful son-in-law, and loyal friend.  To know Ryan was to love him—his warmth, humor, and generous spirit made him a friend to everyone he met.
Ryan’s spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. While he may no longer walk beside us, his legacy of kindness, humor, and unwavering generosity will remain with us forever.
