Rosemary Grosso Obituary

Rosemary Louise Grosso (Greco) of West Chester, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 30, 2024.  She was 70 years old.

Born in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of William Francis Greco and Patricia Dolan Greco.  She was the beloved wife of Anthony Grosso, her devoted husband of over 51 years; mother to daughters, Reesha and Colette; sister to Joe, Simsun, Suzy and Bill.

Rosemary's pursuit of knowledge reflected her desire to understand the complexities of human nature. She studied Arts, Letters & Sciences at Penn State and Psychology at Neumann University. She was deeply interested in human rights, had a sharp wit, and a keen appreciation for poetry and fine art.  She had a long career in banking, helping many to secure mortgages and loans.

Rosemary’s marriage with Anthony was remarkable— both a true partnership and a model for everlasting love. Her sisters were her closest friends, and they raised many daughters together.  She had an accepting, welcoming heart, and many considered her a second mom. Her patience and listening skills were unparalleled, and her advice was highly sought after. She had an unshakable belief in our unalienable right to the pursuit of happiness.

Rosemary’s gentle spirit and love for animals gave her a preternatural ability to connect with creatures great and small. Throughout her life she knew every dog in the neighborhood. She took great pleasure in spending time in nature, and was especially fond of long drives in Chester County and summer days in Sea Isle City, New Jersey, with family and friends. She had an eye for interior design and delighted in making the family home a place of sunshine and comfort. She was curious and playful and loved game nights, impromptu kitchen dance parties, and sing-alongs to favorite albums.

Rosemary's love for her family was so strong, she always knew us, and her heart was so willing, she never stopped laughing and dancing with us. Her warmth and compassion touched the lives of many.

In celebration of her life, a Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 10:30am at Saint Anastasia Roman Catholic Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073.  Private reception to follow.
