Roy Goodman of Kempton, PA passed away surrounded by his family in their home on December 28, 2021 from a protracted battle with a rare cancer. Roy was kind, jovial, and grateful through all of his years, making him an exceptional husband and father. He had a special love and respect for the sportsmanship in hunting and fishing.
Roy attended Spring Garden Institute and graduated from Temple University, earning his degree in mechanical engineering. Professionally, he was adored by staff in many buildings across the Lehigh Valley as he maintained and fixed elevators as a member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors. Following his retirement from the elevator industry, he gave back to young elevator constructors as an instructor, and to the community by rebuilding, fixing, and volunteering at the Kempton Community Center. He reveled in live music and meals at local restaurants with friends and family.
He is survived by his wife, Barb; daughter, Georgia and her partner, Valerie.
Per the wishes of Roy and in an effort to observe safety protocols relating to the ongoing pandemic, a celebration of life will be held outdoors at the Kempton Community Center in the afternoon on June 4, 2022.
In lieu of flowers, Roy has requested donations to the Kempton Community Center, Attn: Treasurer P.O. Box 42, Kempton, PA 19529.
