Sandra M. Hickey

Sandra Hickey, age 81, of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.  Born on May 27,1943, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Frances Rhodes Hughes.

Sandra worked in the restaurant at the Brandywine River Museum for over 20 years where she took great pride in catering countless events.  She loved spending time at the shore creating memories with her family during the summer.  Sandra was a woman of great strength and boundless love who only saw the positive in everyone.  She touched the hearts of all who crossed her path and will be missed terribly by her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Robert (Bobby) Hickey; son, Edward Hickey (Rosanne) of Wilmington, DE; daughters, Lisa Ferree of Cochranville, PA, Robin Lipford of West Grove, PA and Kellie Brown of Wilmington, DE; 11 grandchildren who were the light of her life and lovingly referred to her as "Gammis"; sister of Kevin Hughes and Barbara Bachelor.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by siblings, Roy Hughes Sr. and Donald Hughes.

A viewing will be from 10:00AM until 11:00AM with a funeral service at 11:00AM on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at the LONGWOOD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION of MATTHEW GENEREUX, 913 East Baltimore Pike, Kennett Square.  Burial will be private.
