Sandra Gretchen Noto (nee Makoby), of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania peacefully transitioned to her eternal life on August 17, 2025 at the age of 80. Born on October 9, 1944 in Chester, Delaware County, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Edward Jacob Makoby and the late Julia Rogers Makoby (nee Harper).
Sandra was a devoted follower of Christ, who’s life was a testament of faith, love and unwavering hope. She was an unconditional and nurturing mother who always put the needs of her children ahead of her own. Sandra retired from Boeing in 2011 after many years of service, where too she was known for her kindness, compassion and friendly disposition. She was always ready to lend her helping hand, a hug and a kind word. A devoted member of Calvary Chapel, Sandra was a greeter among her other duties. This suited her well as she loved to make others feel welcomed.
Sandra was the beloved and devoted wife of Matthew Noto for whom she deeply cared for; dear mother of Laura Connors (Patrick) and George Sarkis, II and their father, George Sarkis; sister of Jane Mallory (Sonny); aunt of Spencer Mallory (Lisa) and Tracey Mallory. She is also survived by Matthew’s children, Matthew Noto, Jr., Patricia Morris (Steve), Kelly Simon (Sam), Tracy Gdowik and 10 grandchildren. She was predeceased by Michael Noto (Gerri).
Visitation with the family will be from 10:00AM until 11:00AM with a memorial service at 11:00AM on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at the LONGWOOD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION of MATTHEW GENEREUX, 913 East Baltimore Pike, Kennett Square. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Sandra’s name may be made to Calvary Chapel of Delaware County, 500 Brandywine Drive, Chadds Ford, PA 19317
