Stephen E. Kiefer Obituary
Stephen Kiefer, of Hawley, PA, a devoted family man, skilled tradesman, and hardworking provider, passed away suddenly on May 1, 2026. He was born on July 16, 1957, in Paterson, New Jersey, to the late Kenneth and Audrey “VonPutten” Kiefer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and older brother, Kenneth.
Stephen was a talented general contractor and owner of SEK Contracting. Most recently, he worked as a CDL driver for Art Trovei & Sons, while continuing his work as a trusted handyman. He was known for his strong work ethic, his ability to fix just about anything, and his willingness to always lend a hand.
He was married to Marilyn Kiefer for 30 years, and together they raised two daughters. Later in life, he found love again with Salvina Grech, lovingly known as “Buttercup,” with whom he shared 16 years filled with love, laughter, and many adventures.
Stephen had a great sense of humor and brought laughter to those around him. He lived life to the fullest, finding joy in simple pleasures—working on his home and property, traveling, and spending time with his grandchildren. He especially enjoyed shopping and antiquing with his beloved Buttercup, as well as riding his Harley, fishing, and gardening.
He is survived by his life partner, Salvina Grech; his younger brother, James; his sister, Linda; his daughters, Angel (Daniel) and Ashley (Joe); and his cherished grandchildren, Gianna, Sadie, Ella, and Sawyer.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
