Susan Marie Reagoso died on September 9, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Susan was a determined, independent, and family-oriented woman – a daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother. A devout Catholic and grateful cancer survivor, Susan battled and beat Leukemia in 2004, and was active in the lives of her children, grandchildren, friends, neighbors, and church. Loyal, honest (sometimes to a fault) and forgiving, Susan always made herself available to others. Whether entertaining her grandchildren for visits and marathon-sleepovers, helping her neighbors get safely to the grocery store and back, walking her spark-plug dog, Weezie (and chatting with neighbors), volunteering at her church, or texting her daughters daily to brighten their mornings, her presence was felt by all who knew her. She loved corny Hallmark movies, lattes from Starbucks (despite the indigestion it caused), her dog (and dogs and cats of all kinds – many of whom were accustomed to her producing treats from her pockets), Trader Joes, all varieties of sweets (she was quite fond of whoopie pies), Easter Holidays, her church, and peace and quiet. Often courageous, occasionally stubborn, but always faithful – to her friends, family and religion, Susan took pride in the upkeep of her health and home and strived to never be a burden to others. Those closest to her will remember (and already miss) her tart honesty, unabashed opinions, heartfelt compassion (she regularly gave to charities), and predictable impatience (particularly when dessert wasn’t close on the heels of dinner). Most importantly, her children and grandchildren will never forget her love and compassion – a void that cannot be filled after her sudden death. Susan will be missed and will forever live on in the hearts and minds of all who knew her.
Susan was the beloved mother of Christopher Reagoso, Meredith Harlan and Bernadette Petrilla; grandmother of Ben Harlan, Sarah Harlan, Claire Harlan, Charlie Petrilla, Henry Petrilla; sister of Charles Bromley.
A viewing will be from 9:30AM to 10:30AM with a Funeral Mass being offered at 10:30AM on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at St. Cornelius Catholic Church, 160 Ridge Road, Chadds Ford. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon.
