Suzann Hornberger Jaagus of West Chester, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Monday, December 2, 2024 at Brandywine Living at Longwood; she was 75 years old. Born in Bloomsburg, Columbia County, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Richard Harris Hornberger and Mary Rarig Hornberger, beloved wife of Thomas J. Jaagus and devoted mother of Tiia, Thomas and Lyla.
Suzann graduated from Bloomsburg University with a degree in Education. She began her career as an Administrative Assistant for the V.P. of Chemicals at DuPont Company. Her next venture was teaching at Penncrest High School. After staying home for years to raise her children, she pursued a passion for real estate with Prudential in Chester County. A few years later, she and a close friend opened Joya Boutiques in West Chester. Together, they had fun shopping and styling the women of Chester County for 20 years. Suzann was a devoted wife, mother, Me-Me, sister, and friend to all who knew her. She was known for her kindness, generosity, positive spirit and love of life. She enjoyed traveling the world near and far, from relaxing in the Caribbean to exploring Europe, downtime spent on Skaneateles Lake and enjoying the Mountain House with family. Suzann enjoyed fine wine, gardening, cooking, entertaining for the holidays and happy hours. She hosted large parties for friends, and friends of friends. Everyone was welcome in her home. Above all else, she loved her family and was never happier than when they were all gathered together, laughing, joking and reminiscing.
She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Thomas J. Jaagus; daughter, Tiia Furniss (Mark); son Thomas H. Jaagus (Elyse Kelly) and daughter, Lyla Chamness (Greg); grandchildren Paige and Holly Furniss, Finn and Reed Chamness; and sister, Elizabeth Cruse.
Suzann will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.
Services will be private. Memorial donations in Suzann’s name may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, https://give.michaeljfox.org
