Thelma J. D’Amico, age 82 of Toughkenamon, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Richmond, VA, she was the daughter of the late Arnold Castle and Julia (Ward) Castle.
She worked at Towne and Country Cleaners in Kennett Square for over 30 years. Thema was a devout Catholic with a strong faith in God. Her love for her family was admirable and also devoted her entire life to all of them.
She was a member of a Wednesday morning bowling league, when afterwards, she and her friends would gather for lunch. She was an avid reader and a huge sports fan. Watching the Phillies was her favorite pastime. She and her husband, Anthony, enjoyed dining out weekly with their close friends and traveling to Connecticut every fall. Cooking and spending time with her grandchildren on Wednesday evenings was her true joy and highlight of her life. She cherished every moment she spent with them.
Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony V. D’Amico, Sr., with whom she shared 57 years of marriage and her three children, Anthony V. D’Amico, (Kathleen), Donna D’Amico-Lilley, (Harry), and Mary Belfiore, (Henry). In addition; six grandchildren, Adrian, Alicia, Brianna, Nicolas, Jenna and Daniel. She is also survived by her dear sister-in-law, Gloria D’Amico of Bear, DE.
A viewing will be from 10:00AM until 10:45AM with a Funeral Mass at 11:00AM on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at St. GABRIEL OF THE SORROWFUL MOTHER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 8910 Gap Newport Pike, Avondale. Burial will follow the Funeral Mass in St. Patrick Cemetery, Route 82, Kennett Square.
