Thelma Faith Shore, age 73, of Avondale, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, February 15, 2024.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Thelma Karns Dillin.
Faith graduated from Marple Newtown High School. She enjoyed decorating. Her home reflected her appreciation of antiques and homemade items. An excellent cook, she liked entertaining and hosting traditional Christmas Eve parties. Faith shared her vocal talent for several years as a member of a church praise band. She was instrumental in planning & coordinating church and community events, most notably Avondale Fall Festivals. She loved traveling to the shore and vacationing in Williamsburg and Florida. Faith was a treasured, supportive and loyal friend. Her greatest pride and joy in life was her children and four grandchildren.
Faith was the beloved wife of William “Bill” D. Shore, Jr., with whom she shared 52 years of marriage; beloved mother of Brian William Shore and Faith Christine Essick; four adored grandchildren, Kallie Ann, Jacob William, Sarah Lillian and Brian Patrick; brother, Frank Dillin (Kathy); sisters in law, Florence Shore, Mary Shore, Alice Rasmussen (Jonathan); brother in law, John (Donna); numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her beloved grand dog, Molly.
A visitation with her family will be from 12:00PM until 1:00PM with her Celebration of Life service beginning at 1:00PM on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at LONGWOOD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION of MATTHEW GENEREUX, 913 East Baltimore Pike, Kennett Square.
A luncheon will follow at 2:00PM at Avondale Fire Company, 23 Firehouse Way, Avondale, PA 19311.
