Obituary

Thomas V. Chiomento, Jr., Captain, USN, (ret.) passed away on July 2, 2025 at the Coatesville VA Memory Care Facility.  He was 82 years old. 

Born in Newport, Rhode Island, he was the son of the late Thomas Vincent Chiomento, Sr. and the late Madelyn Braccio Chiomento.

He was the beloved husband of Catherine C. Chiomento for 59 years; father of Christian C. Gilligan (Lawrence), Katrina Chiomento DeRoche (David) and Thomas V. Chiomento, III (Kimberly); grandfather of Connor P. Gilligan (Sarah), Gavin J. Gilligan, Lars T. Gilligan, Hunter J. Gilligan, Olivia DeRoche, Luke DeRoche, Thomas V. Chiomento, IV, James A. Chiomento, Vivian G. Chiomento and Catherine M. Chiomento; great-grandfather of Piper Gilligan and Eleanor Gilligan; brother of Robert Chiomento (Christine) and the late Kanoelani Chiomento.

Visitation with the family will be from 10:00AM until 11:00AM with a Funeral Mass at 11:00AM on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, 203 Church Road, Oxford, Pennsylvania.  United States Navy honors will follow at the conclusion of Mass.

Future interment in Arlington National Cemetery will be announced.
