Thomas Joseph Kelleher III, of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, died peacefully on January 30, 2026, surrounded by his family. Born in 1950 to Thomas and Rita (née Tennyson) Kelleher in Haddonfield, New Jersey, Tom graduated from Bishop Eustace Preparatory School and Hofstra University, where he was an outstanding student-athlete.
He went on to a successful, decades-long career in the financial services industry. Over the years, Tom climbed mountains and hiked, traveled widely for work and pleasure, coached his children’s teams, read avidly about birds, religion, and history, and delighted those around him with a constant stream of witticisms.
Above all, Tom loved his faith and his family. A devout Roman Catholic, he served as Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus at St. Patrick’s Church in Kennett Square and supported numerous programs benefiting unborn children and their mothers. He was a loving, selfless husband and father, deeply respected and cherished by his family.
Tom was also a remarkably strong and courageous man and was sustained in his final years by the constant love and care of his wife, Carolyn. He endured illness with grace, setting a powerful example for family and friends. Until the end, he prayed intently for others, smiled and teased, and always told those who asked after him that he was “better than [he] deserved.”
Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Carolyn (née Mudd); his daughter, Jennifer Voss (Bradley); his son, Kristofer Kelleher (Teresa); six grandchildren, Clare, Maggie, Matthew, Lauren, Jessica, and Jennifer; 9 great-grandchildren; and five siblings. He was preceded in death by an older brother who died in infancy and a great-granddaughter.
May his soul rest in eternal peace with Christ: “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man conceived, what God has prepared for those who love him.” (1 Corinthians 2:9)
Visitation with the family will be from 10:00AM until 11:00AM with a Funeral Mass being offered at 11:00AM on Friday, February 6, 2026 at St. Patrick Church, 212 Meredith Street, Kennett Square. Burial will be private by the family.
The family requests that no flowers be sent. Please consider a memorial donation in Tom's name to a fraternal organization that he was devoted to and would be worthy: ABVM Knights of Columbus Council #3858, c/o ABVM Church, 300 State Road, West Grove, PA 19390
