William EJ Schrof

William "Bill" E.J. Schrof of Unionville, Pennsylvania passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021.  Bill was 7 days shy of his 90th birthday at the time of his passing.  

Bill was the son of William and Emma (Gronbach) Schrof.  He was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio.  He attended The Johns Hopkins University, and received his Doctorate in Organic Chemistry from the University of Cincinnati.  Bill enlisted in the U.S. Navy, and was most proud of his duty as a Hospital Corpsman serving with the U.S. Marine Corps, both with the fleet and ashore.  He spent his entire career working for the DuPont Company as a Research Chemist and Patent Examiner.

Bill was the beloved husband of the late Janet (Seilkop) Schrof for 56 years, father of William Schrof, Jr. and his wife Catherine, Stephen Schrof and his wife Carrie Worton, Peter Schrof, Robert Schrof and his wife Wendy and Henry Schrof; grandfather of 11; and brother of the late Walter Schrof.  

Per Bill's wishes, his graveside burial service on June 1, 2021 in Unionville Cemetery was private.
