Dear Maryellen, Vic & Heather,
I am truly sorry for your loss. Words can not express the pain and sadness. Ryan was an AMAZING guy! I had some of my best years and memories with him! He always lite up the room with his smile and his silliness! You all always made me feel like a big part of your family and I am blessed that I got to meet and get to know you and all of your family when we moved to Pittsburgh. Heather you were like a big sister to me and Maryellen & Vic you were amazing parents and you always welcomed me. And I have to say you did an awesome pig roast and the tailgates were like no other.
Ryan, your time has come too soon. You were an amazing guy and will always be loved! Although the hurt is so strong I cherish the memories and days we had together. The good times, the memories and all the laughs will always be with me and what I will remember about you. Rest in peace Ryan. I hope you are reunited with Sobe and I will see you one day again on the other side. You will always be loved and missed!

So many great memories from Sutti, not sure where to start. Tough, fearless; a great leader. Ferocious, especially at the bottom of the pile. Putting little (JV) Cook in every highlight reel. Driving to Marion or wherever everyday together for All-Area practice and antics afterwards. 8 people in CXR in his garage, plenty of cold ones all around. How excited he would get after a great hit, top defense just about anywhere our year if I recall correctly. Camp Green lane and being served by the sophomores, laughing till we cried. Phat Ink. Stealing our confiscated beer back from my parents on NYE and racing out the back door. Sorry if I'm not supposed to post this sort of stuff on here...

I appreciate your friendship and camaraderie; loyal to a fault. It's unfortunate we lost touch after high school, just saw and spoke a few times after graduating, but never out of mind. I know you would have had my back anytime anyplace. Wish we could have made it work to meet up in Fort Lauderdale a few years past.

In talking with friends and teammates, we are all deeply affected by this, more than anyone would have thought; not that this sort of thing was ever thought about. It's amazing how deep our connections are and even though we are all different people now; then the crazy young cats we were; who we are is because of those in the past. I remember those days like they were yesterday and everyone who was there. Love all my old classmates and teammates. Esp bad ass Sutti; RIP #72. Thanks for everything you did in your life and may the pain of your passing be eased on your family, friends, and teammates, and most especially your military brethren.

Please excuse my lack of attendance, I tried my hardest, but I live in Las Vegas and unfortunately I had to work this weekend and am covering another's vacation next week.... :(

Dear Vic, Marryellen and family,

I'm so very saddened by Ryan's passing. Ryan was such a sweetheart and the utmost gentleman. He always made me feel like part of your family. I can remember his well wishes on my wedding video. He was 11 at the time and his words were one of my favorite parts of the video. I cannot begin to imagine the unbearable pain you're going through, words seem insignificant. My continued prayers are with you. May God bless you and carry you through this unimaginable sorrow.

Thank you Ryan for your sacrifice and bravery. May you find peace in the arms of your savior.

All my love,

Dearest Maryellen, Vic, and Heather,

Nothing we say can give you the comfort and peace you so greatly deserve. Ryan touched the hearts and lives of so many! His love for family, friends, and country was shown throughout his life. His smile, his warmth, and so many great memories will live on in the hearts of our family. You raised and loved a wonderful Son, and Brother. His compassion, strength, and character, were felt by all who had the honor of knowing him. The picture of "Creation" that he cherished and asked me to hold for him is an example of his belief in God and what life meant to Ryan.

Ryan, you will truely be missed! May God bless you and hold you in the palm of His hand.

Love Always,

Dear Vic and Maryellen,

We are so sorry to see Ryan's passing and wish we knew a way to ease your and our grief. It's been awhile since the fun days we all had together but we still have great memories of you two and Ryan. Some are simple things like Eric and Ryan hanging around the house or going off to UHS football camp as 9th graders. We especially remember all of us having dinner late at night after the final Chichester OT win. We even have the two six packs of Cleveland/Pittsburgh Iron City beer that you gave Ryan and Eric as keepsakes. Eric and Brooke and families will be visiting us in two weeks. Don't know what happens to Iron City after 20 years in a cupboard, but we'll chill them down and drink a toast to you two and Heather and Ryan. Our thoughts are with you. Hope we meet up again someday.

We were all in canoes and Ryan wanted to paddle, even though the paddle was heavier and bigger than he was. I also remember how polite he was. You two raised a great son and Heather, I'm sure you played a role in his development as his big sister. Vic - We are shocked and saddened beyond words to have heard this. A parent losing a child can not be imagined by any. Many of us in IT in Pittsburgh all seemed to have a small baby boom of having children all around the same year and in those young days of us all, we were all part of each other's daily lives, as we worked together. I have always felt a strong bond and connection with you since those days and the following years we worked together, both in and outside of the office. You were a source of inspiration to me personally in how you always lived life to the fullest and enjoyed every moment of friends and family, but especially how you talked about your children. Anita and I are praying for you and your family during this especially hard time...and always. Take care and contact us whenever you can in the future. Love.... Dave & Anita

Vic, I remember the day you told me Ryan decided to join the Marines. He just knew it was something he wanted to do.
God will bestow a very special blessing on Ryan for the great sacrifice you have been asked to endure. Ryan's death will not be in vain.

Our prayers will be with you Maryellen and Heather at this sad and tragic time.
